The Head Line 01.24.08: Minutes still falling...

7:00 min | 5 pts | 2-4 FGs | 1-2 3FGs | Boxscore

Head's P/T is definitely getting dropped as T-Mac re-asserts himself in the Rockets line-up. But this is all we want from Luther. Come in, hit some shots, don't turnover the ball. He'll get burn based on the personnel the Rockets face and whether or not he's hitting the shots, so never fear Head fans. Luther will still get plenty of chances to contribute, especially with Mike James and Steve Francis still looking busted. The question is whether or not the Head can cope with spot duty Steve Kerr style. They'll need him.

The Head Line 01.08.08: Regaining the touch

33:21 min | 24 pts | 8-13 FGs | 4-6 3FGs | 4-4 FTs | Boxscore

Yao Ming has had specific orders for months: Shoot the ball. Pass if you must. Try not to dribble. And when in doubt, shoot the ball.

When Luther follows through, this is the result. Good to see Luther get the touch back after spending the last two 4th quarters on the bench. It was beginning to look like Aaron Brooks was going to be Adelman's 4th quarter guy, but as with most rookies, they have off days. The Rockets are better off with more options, but more consistent options.

Rox can go ahead and move Mike James now.

The Head Line 12.29.07: Rocket guards come up big

25:13 min | 13 pts | 4-8 FGs | 3-7 FTs | 4 asts | Boxscore

Solid game for Head making big contributions in the 4th including two assists in the last 7:30 minutes and a big three-pointer with 2:29 left to put the Rockets back up double-digits. Rafer was even bigger, which is good for the offense, which is actually looking pretty good now, balanced scoring and everyone is getting involved. Rockets win their first back-to-back of the season... without T-Mac.

The Head Line 12.28.07

23:09 min | 7 pts | 3-9 FGs | 1-3 3FGs | 3 asts | Boxscore

Quiet night for Luther but the Rockets coast to a win with no T-Mac. Brooks (10 pts, 7 asts) continues to play well, making a fairly decent tandem with Head, but Bonzi may not be the answer at two as a starter.

The Head Line 12.23.07: No chance in Detroit

26:10 min | 4-12 FGs | 3-7 3FGs | 3 asts | 2 stls | Boxscore

Luther continues to contribute with 11 pts but didn't shoot particularly well. Rockets never stood a chance this time around having played 4 games since Tuesday and no T-Mac or Yao in the 2nd half. Don't know how long T-Mac's going to be out this time with the sore knee. Head should get a chance to step up in his absence.

The Head Line 12.22.07

19:53 min | 13 pts | 5-9 FGs | 3-4 3FGs | 3 rebs | 1 ast | 1 stl | 1 blk | 1 TO | Boxscore

The hits just keep comin'... in less than 20 minutes, Luther drops 13 points and hits 3 threes. Our boy's becoming a fantasy league factor again. As long as Luther's droppin' bombs, he's got a spot in the rotation. And the defense is looking better, too.

The Head Line12.20.07

45:01 min | 7-15 FGs | 5-10 3FGs | 3-4 FTs | 4 FTs | 6 asts | 5 TOs | 4 PFs | Boxscore

With T-Mac and Francis out and Mike James struggling, Head's got some serious burn in Denver. He put it down, though, with some huge shots in a heartbreaker. That's the Luther we all remember--even busted the nasty head fake crossover on AI that was playground nice. Don't know how that wasn't 2+the free throw, though. But anyway, it's good to see some Head back on the floor. Next game's in hometown Chi-town. Should be interesting.
